Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankhar, have turned down the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) plea to appoint Raghav Chadha as the leader in the Rajya Sabha.
In a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal,Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar wrote a letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal saying that the request is rejected. Dhankhar said in the letter, "This aspect is subject to the rules made under the Leaders of Parties, Groups and Chief Whips (Facilities) Act 1998 recognized in Parliament." The request is not in accordance with legal process. That is why it is not being accepted.'' In such a situation, Sanjay Singh will now remain the leader of AAP in the Upper House.

The motive behind this request was reportedly the judicial custody of floor leader Sanjay Singh. The party is now working to make the necessary adjustments in response to the feedback received.
